About KAKU
Kaku Izakaya: Meet at Kaku, Vibe with the world
Founded on February 26, 2024, by four friends from four different professional backgrounds, Kaku represents a fusion of diverse experiences, all united by a shared belief: when you come to Kaku, you don’t just come to enjoy the offerings, you come to connect.
This is an authentic standing-style Izakaya, a traditional Japanese pub where you can enjoy drinks and snacks in a lively, standing-only setting.
Kakuuchi
The name 'Kaku' is inspired by Kakuuchi, a corner in a Japanese liquir store where they create as a standing style of drinking and tasting liquire on site. Here, we do not have many tables or chairs: just delicious Obanzai dishes and an open-hearted spirit.
Tachinomi
Tachinomi (Japanese: 立ち飲み) literally translates to 'standing and drinking.' It is a distinct Japanese culture where people stand at izakayas to enjoy drinks (such as sake or beer) and light snacks at very affordable prices

Menu
Kaku signature dishes are crafted by Chef Yuko, hailing from Western Japan (Osaka). They feature the rich depth of Dashi broth, characterized by a natural, mild sweetness and a subtle savory profile, commonly known as 'Umami'.
Obanzai (おばんざい)
A traditional Japanese home-style culinary art that highlights seasonal ingredients to emphasize natural flavors and nutritional balance. Each meal features a variety of small, fresh, and simply prepared dishes, such as tofu, seasonal fish, and vegetables.
Oden (おでん)
The 'soul food' of Japan, a traditional Japanese hot pot featuring a hearty simmered broth with ingredients like daikon radish, boiled eggs, konnyaku (konjac), and a variety of fish cakes.
Space
Warm & Cozy Atmosphere: Featuring a signature palette of black, gold, and wood-toned brown, creating the authentic, nostalgic vibe of a traditional Japanese izakaya.
Minimalist & Refined Layout: Optimized for space and functionality, our design balances practical efficiency with aesthetic appeal.
